Arroyo Style

We fished the Arroyo Colorado area with LG Outfitters in late October and smoked the fish on artificial lures with LeeRoy Gonzales.

The conditions were textbook, we had light winds out of the South East and we had moderately stained water.  The baits of choice were top-water and soft plastics.
We drift fished and covered water and really put it on the fish.  LeeRoy and I caught Snook, Jacks, Redfish, Mangrove Snapper and Speckled Trout.

This trip was caught on video camera for television by Alexis.   Her passion for fishing and steady arm produced some great footage for our fishing shows.  Thanks Alexis.

Anglers Note:
The trick today was to fish the lures as if a fish was following the bait.  This will keep you on top of your game.  If you envision that every time you cast, you have a fish or two following your bait, you will be more careful to make the best presentation possible.  Don’t  just move the bait back to the boat as you always do.  Give it some finesse.   Make every cast count and fish the Strike Zones, which are the transions between different bottom types.  Work the drop offs, the points, the ledges and grass-lines.  Anticipate the strike and keep your rod tip down so you are ready to set the hook.  These tips will enable you to catch more fish
Thanks for your time today ………….and……… I’ll see you on the water.
