Our Escape to the Bohio Dive Resort—Turks and Caicos Baby !!!

We choose the Turks and Caicos, Grand Turk Island and the Bohio Dive Resort because we liked the diving experience that they offer.  For one, they are in a prime area of the world for diving.  But the fact that their resort offers dive adventures that depart from their private beach and the dive locations are only 300 yards offshore, make it ideal.

Kevin Barton, my great friend, made a Television show on Scuba Diving and we shot it all on HD underwater video.   Steve, the divemaster was great.  His personality and energy was great.   He helped us get in and out of the water with the Dive Cameras and was a pleasure to work with.  He really knew the substructure and helped us shoot the video we needed to make an amazing underwater show.

The Turks area has one of the most extensive coral reef systems in the world.  They are 200 miles long and 65 miles wide.  These waters are ranked as one of the premier diving areas in the world.

We saw Nurse Sharks, Sea Turtles, Fish of many varieties and Lobster.  The Famous Grand Turk Wall was absolutely amazing.  I have been diving for over 30 years and have dove many wall dives in my life, the Wall Dives in this area are simply outrageous.  These walls fall from 30 feet in water depth to over 5000 feet below the waters surface.  Truly amazing !!!   The coral reefs were untouched.  Nothing was disturbed and the water clarity was over 100 feet on our best dives.  In certain times of the year the visability can be over 200 feet.

The National Parks Ordinance has set aside vast areas as marine parks and fisheries reserves.  Summer waters are 82 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit, no wet suits are required.  When we dove, in April, the water was slightly cooler and we wore 2mm wet suits to take the chill off.  Keep in mind, the diving is excellent in the winter time but the water can be in the 74 to 78 range and 3mm wet suits may be needed.   Keep in mind, no need to pack any gear for diving, the Bohio Resort can provide it all for you.

We were very happy with the experience.  Look for our Television show later this year on this amazing underwater experience.

Thanks for your time today, and I’ll see you on the water.
