Turks Fishing---Screaming Reels—With Captain Damian Noyes !!!

Kevin Barton and I and some friends headed out with Damian and his crew, Sam and Hector, for some rod bending action on the water.  The shallow water was not the water we were looking for, we were going for the deep-deep blue water.  We trolled water as deep as 1000 feet to bring up the fish.  Not your usual off-shore trip.

We smoked some awesome fish with Screaming Reels.

Damian’s notes-----Fished the ‘’SPLIT’’ , three to five miles off of Grand Turk’s north west coast.  The split is also marked as ‘’PIGS EAR BANK’' on marine maps and charts.  Caught a mix of Tuna, including Black Fin, Yellow Fin, and Skip Jacks.  Later after the morning bite died down, we fished Grand Turk’s NORTH EAST REEF, in some rugged conditions, 4-6 foot seas.  Caught a nice Mahi Mahi, and a bunch of Barracuda.  Later decided to do a little bottom fishing on the the north east bank in 80 feet of water, looking for grouper and snapper.

The current made fishing tough, but in the short time there we did manage to catch a few colourful reef creatures, including, Strawberry Rock Hind and a Cony which are both members of the grouper family, as well as Queen Trigger fish, Squirrel fish, and our famous Slang-Dang.  We later moved back to the Split to fish the day off with couple more Tuna.

We got the nice Yellow fin Tuna we had been looking for weighing 25-30 pounds.  Unfortunately the sharks were thinking along the same lines as us, and arrived early for breakfast.  There pretty quickly, stole allot of our fish and tackle, and forced us to move to other fishing grounds.  Decided to gun it down to Salt Cay.  This proved to be the wise decision, as we hooked another nice 20 pound Mahi Mahi, and a pretty Cero Mackerel.  Finished the day off with a couple more Barracuda just to keep the REELS SCREAMING!
Small private groups and personal attention are what they specialize in.

The 30 foot Cat was amazing on the water.  His boat is a HydroCat 300c.  A 30 foot sport fishing power cat, with 10 foot beam.    It is Powered by twin Honda bf225 outboards.

Electronics: Lowrance HDS 8 chart plotter with 3D navionics charts, Also has Standard Horizon Chart plotter/VHF combo, with charts by C-Map.  Kenwood Marine Stereo with Sirius Satellite radio antenna, for crystal clear radio in any location and sea conditions.
The Hydrocat offered a great solid ride even in rough water and they have a head/toilet, on board for your convenience

We used outriggers for running multiple rods for some real hook-ups. Gear:  Custom built Blue Spear 30-80 pounds class offshore rods.  Made in Puerto Rico by PJ wholesale rods.  Reels are PENN GLD 30, and TICA ST688 R, spooled with 80 lb braided line.

The deep water, rod bending, reel screaming adventure with the crew of Screaming Reels put us on some awesome fish.  Contact Damian and his staff at 1-649-231-2087 or on-line at www.screamingreelstours.com or e-mail them at info@screamingReelstours.com for your next vacation.   We highly recommend Damian and the crew of  “Screaming Reels Charter Fishing”.

Thanks for your time today, and I’ll see you on the water.
